Strong to severe geomagnetic storms can help promote enhanced seismicity around the world
in the days starting with the storms, especially at sub-solar areas at the
sudden commencement of such storms. This could begin as early as today.
Active conditions in the geomagnetic field are expected March 15-17, 2025. Solar activity is expected to be at moderate levels March 15-17, 2025. A moderate chance (45%) of an M-class flare and 10% chance of an X-class flare. A proton storm is expected with 5% probability in this time period.

The strong geomagnetic storm coneinued today. Planetary AP reached index of 42 with
northern latitude P seeing index of 44, the third highest in the past month. K-index
reached 6 from about 10:00 thorugh 22:00 UT a long lasting strong storm. Such
storms can enhance seismicity at the time of their occurrence and several days
later. Today's storm is probably related to a series of M-class solar flares
reported on March 11, 2025. No M-class flares were reported on March 13, 2025.

The planetary geomagnetic field today saw minor storm conditions with AP 32. High latitudes saw stormy conditions with AP 51. Medium latitudes saw disturbed conditions with AP 18.
There was a strong geomagnetic storm today. Planetary AP reached index of 32 with
northern latitude P seeing index of 51, the third highest in the past month. K-index
reached 6 from about 10:00 thorugh 22:00 UT a long lasting strong storm. Such
storms can enhance seismicity at the time of their occurrence and several days
later. Today's storm is probably related to a series of M-class solar flares
reported on March 11, 2025. No M-class flares were reported on March 12, 2025.
Active conditions in the geomagnetic field are expected March 14-15 with minor storms March 13, 2025. Solar activity is expected to be at moderate levels March 13-15, 2025. A moderate chance (40%) of an M-class flare and 5% chance of an X-class flare. A proton storm is expected with 1% probability in this time period.
The maximum disturbance in the geomagnetic field today occurred with KP 6 at 21:00 UT on March 12, 2025.
The Wolf Sunspot number today was 160 Solar radio Flux 10.7 was 160 on March 12, 2025.

storm at high latitudes with A of 49 which peaked about the time of the earthquakes in Los Angeles at local solar noon today (about 20:00 UT) and was also associated with the M 6.6 east of Greenland in the Jan Mayen region.

The planetary geomagnetic field today saw minor storm conditions with AP 35. High latitudes saw strong storm conditions with AP 49. Medium latitudes saw active conditions with AP 24.
This AP index of 35 was accompanied by a strong geomagnetic
storm at high latitudes with A of 49 which peaked about the time of the earthquakes in Los Angeles at local solar noon today (about 20:00 UT) and was also associated with the M 6.6 east of Greenland in the Jan Mayen region.
The last date on which the global AP index surpassed 35 was on January 1, 2025 when the index was at 86.
Active conditions in the geomagnetic field are expected March 11-12, 2025 with minor storms March 10, 2025. Solar activity is expected to be at moderate levels March 10-12, 2025. A moderate chance (30%) of an M-class flare and 5% chance of an X-class flare. A proton storm is expected with 1% probability in this time period.
